Christ For Christmas 14/12/14
14th December 2014- CHRIST FOR CHRISTMAS
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests." Luke 2:14 NIV
Introduction: The virgin birth of Jesus is one of the best known
stories in the Bible. With the birth of Jesus, God became a man to walk among
us and to be our saviour.
Read Luke 2:1-20 (The Birth of Jesus)
Discussion Questions:
1. Why did Joseph and Mary go from their home in Nazareth and walk all the
way to Bethlehem? (Because Caesar Augustus issued a law for everyone to go to
their home town for a census.)
2. After Jesus was born, why was He placed in a manger? See verse 7.
(Because there was no more room at any of the Inns.)
3. What is a manger? (A feeding trough for animals - or have someone look
up manger in a Bible dictionary)
5. Jesus the saviour of the whole world wasn't born in a beautiful palace
like other kings? Why do you think that was? (Unlike a king who was served,
Jesus was to live a humble life and serve others.)
6. What holiday is coming up soon?
Christmas… Of course, Christmas!
7. What does Christmas mean to you?
All of these things that we do with our family are good things
That help us celebrate Christmas!
Today I want to tell you the reason we have Christmas.
• The reason we have Christmas is to celebrate Jesus’ birth!
• Jesus is the Son of God.
• A long time ago Jesus was born here, and that is why we
Celebrate Christmas. It is Jesus’
birthday!!
• Mary was the name of the woman who had baby Jesus.
• She was Jesus’ mommy.
One day an angel came to see Mary.
• The angel told her that she was going to have a baby.
• The baby was going to be God’s Son.
• The angel told her that she was to name the baby, Jesus.
God is Jesus’ Father.
• God the Father called Jesus His “One and Only Son.”
• God is Jesus’ daddy.
• God loved us very much to send His Son here.
• We celebrate this by having Christmas each year!
Prayer: Let’s pray and thank God
for sending His Son, Jesus!
Dear God,
Thank you that you love us.
Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to be here with us.
Thank you for Christmas.

GENESIS CHAPTER 3- ADAM AND EVE –THE FALL
GOD made the first man, and the first woman-ADAM
and EVE
He gave them the beautiful Garden of Eden to live in
Adam and Eve loved their garden and they loved each other

But God warned Adam and Eve, “You
may eat fruit from any tree but this one.
If you eat from this special tree, bad things will happen.
One day, a snake slithered up to Eve.
It led her to the tree that God had warned them about.
God was angry with Adam and Eve for not doing what He had told them
And God made them leave the Garden for ever

GOD’S PROMISE OF SALVATION
The perfect unity between God and His beloved
creation is now broken for all time.
Adam and Eve are forced to create a new life out of their knowledge and shame.
But already, God has a plan to redeem His creation.
God promises that one day He will send a saviour for His people. And that is JESUS

PRAYER
Dear God thank you for loving me, even when I do
naughty things. Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross so that I can
be forgiven. Please be my friend and help me to follow you. AMEN

about Jesus (WE DO THAT)
2. They spent time together as friends (WE DO THAT)
3. They shared meals and prayed together (WE DO THAT)
4. They helped each other and were generous (WE DO THAT)
5. They worshiped God together (WE DO THAT)
Memory Verse – Psalm 122:1- I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of
the LORD.'

there were nothing in this world… There was no flowers, no sea, no sky, no
ground, no animals, no people and no YOU and Me.
Then God decided to
create all our wonderful world... He made everything in it. He made it for
people to live in and enjoy.
He made something
very special, HE MADE YOU!!!!!,He knew you before you were Born, He knew your
Mummy and Daddy, He knew where you would live, He knows everything because
HE IS GOD!!!!
God gave you hair,
eyes, ears, nose and mouth
Your ears help you
hear people talking, birds singing, dog barking and cars or buses driving
They hear me
telling you stories about God
God gave you mouth
so that you can taste and eat the good things He made for you

making Me, Me.
